To begin with, the theoretical framework of the book composed of four major international relations theories, realism, pluralism, Marxism and social-constructivism is underlined, with emphasis on the basic ideas and analytical tools of each. My hypothesis is that social-constructivism is the most appropriate theory for understanding the international orientation of Romanian communism.
